By using PDF for Free you agree to these terms. PDF for Free provides browser-based image and PDF utilities on an “as available” basis. Processing is performed by your device; no account, cloud file storage or guaranteed conversion service is included.
Your files and authorization
You keep responsibility for your source files and outputs. Use a file only when you own it or have permission and lawful authority to process it. Do not use the tools to violate copyright, privacy, confidentiality, court orders, records rules or another person’s rights.
Password unlocking is limited to a password you already know and a document you are authorized to open. Visual signatures do not verify identity and do not create certificate-backed digital signatures. Never misrepresent a generated document as approved, official or signed by someone without authority.
Check every result
Compression, conversion, OCR, redaction, form filling and browser differences can change appearance, text, metadata or compatibility. Review downloaded output before submitting, printing, signing, deleting the original or relying on it. OCR can misread names, dates and numbers. Target-size compression may be unable to meet a requested limit without unacceptable loss.
No professional advice
Templates, presets and explanations are general technical information, not legal, government, accessibility, records-management or professional advice. The receiving organization’s current rules control whether a photo, signature, PDF, form or other output is acceptable.
Prohibited behavior
- Do not attack, probe, overload, automate abuse of or bypass limits on the site.
- Do not distribute malware or use PDF for Free to facilitate fraud or deception.
- Do not artificially generate advertising impressions or clicks, or ask others to click ads.
- Do not remove notices from third-party software where its licence requires them.
Availability, third parties and advertising
Browser support, device memory and third-party codecs can limit results. Features may change or be withdrawn for security, policy or maintenance. Optional advertisements and analytics are provided by third parties under their own terms. An advertisement is not an endorsement, and you should not click any ad except from genuine interest.
Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is supplied without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose or universal file compatibility. Keep independent originals and backups. The operator is not responsible for a loss caused by relying on an unchecked output, deleting an original, a device failure or a third-party service, except where responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
